Dan Harmon's Story Circle

Derived from The Hero's Journey, this format aims to be a little easier to apply and allow focus on characters specifically. The steps are based on common motivations, actions, and consequences.

1. They are in zone of comfort.
2. But they want something.
3. They enter an unfamiliar situation.
4. Adapt to it.
5. Get what they wanted.
6. Pay a heavy price.
7. Then return to their familiar situation.
8. Having changed.

Why a circle? Because it was designed for use with TV plots, and because life follows cycles.
